And so the adventure begins….the best adventure I have ever embarked upon, marrying the man I love, Austin. We could have been married anywhere and I would have been the happiest person in the world. How could you ever top the feeling of marrying the love of your life? Do it in the Caribbean! Wedding week in paradise was so so incredibly unforgettable, I can’t wait to share the details!

Where: The ceremony took place in St. John, US Virgin Islands on Peace Hill. This spot is one of our favorites. It has almost a 360 degree view of the ocean and surrounding islands. Our reception was held at a spectacular villa called Island Stones. If you are planning a trip to St. John, I definitely recommend checking out that place to stay!

Who: 40 of our closest family and friends made the 3,500 mile trek to join us for our wedding.

Theme & Decor: Our wedding had of course, an island theme. I would call our wedding island boho. We incorporated bright vibrant colors that complimented the beauty of island. But really, in such a beautiful setting, the island is all you need. My wedding planner from Island Style Weddings made not only the day but also the entire planning process so easy and absolutely perfect. I would recommend Island Style Weddings to anyone looking to wed on St. John.

Apparel: Since our wedding was pretty casual and fun we wanted our bridal party to dress that way too. The guys wore outfits from Combatant Gentleman, a affordable custom suit company. The guys were so comfortable all day and looked like studs! My bridesmaids wore dresses from Urban Outfitters. They were fun and flowy, perfect for an island summer afternoon. My wedding gown was made by Nightcap. I cannot even tell you how much I loved that dress. It was so comfy and light. I loved how it made me feel and most of all Austin loved it. OO did I mention it was under $400. Ya! If you are looking for an alternative style of wedding dress be sure to check them out.

Pictures: Austin and I really wanted every aspect of our wedding to be meaningful and our photographer was able to capture everything we wanted and more. Lindsay Vann Photography took incredible pictures on our special day. There were several spots on the island that we just had to get a picture and Lindsay made it happen. After the ceremony, the entire bridal party took a 20 minute hike to a secluded beach for those gorgeous pictures. It was hard to get to but definitely worth it.

Favorite Moments: It is so hard to pick just one favorite moment from our wedding day. Really, everything was more than I imagined. If I had to choose one, I would say the moment we became husband and wife was an incredible feeling. Then again, it was so fun to walk down the aisle to the theme song of Pirates of the Caribbean. Trying to balance on an old dock post while taking pictures was also a hilarious memory. But one of the most fun moments I can remember was dancing the night away with our family and friends. There is no better feeling in the world than being in love and being surrounded by the people that mean the most to you. OOO wait, maybe it was when a groomsman jumped in the pool because it was soooo hot!

As cliche as it sounds, my wedding day was the best day of my life. I felt so loved and have the fondest memories of the most perfect day. A destination wedding in our favorite place really made our wedding day special. But more than anything, I feel so blessed that I got to marry my love and best friend.

Live, Laugh, love!!!
